Prepare Your Quilt for Longarming | Fancy Schmancy Nancy

Backing MUST be 4 inches larger than the quilt top on ALL 4 sides. This is the minimum that I will accept.
NO Fleece.
Minkee, Fireside, Flannel, and Wide backs are accepted.
Pieced backing should be sewn with a 1” seam allowance and pressed open to allow the seams to lie flat.
Mark the top of the backing with a pinned on sticky note.

Well pressed front side and back side. Avoid flipped seams. Clip extra threads on the front side.
Mark the top of the quilt with a pinned on sticky note.
Stay stitch all around the 4 sides 1/8 to 1/4 inch This will help your quilt top avoid wavy borders and help it stay flat

You can bring your choice of batting or purchase it from me.
I stock Hobbs 80/20 in cream, white, and black, $12.50 per linear yard.
The loft of the batt determines the texture of the finished quilting. Higher loft batts give a puffy look, and cotton batts give more of an antique look.

I schedule design consultations for every quilt that I accept. You will be choosing exactly what you want, where you want it, and in what color of thread!
